Because 'like water for chocolate' was ample warning and 'object of my affection' was a blatant lie

 Because 'I love you' carried no weight and dropped leaden at 'I'm sorry'

 Because I cannot calm the factions of your civil war and I never claimed to be a pacifist

 Because Hiroshima and Nagasaki should never be relevant pet names and our clouds are still dispersing

 Because exile is no basis for a re-blooming of affection and I do not have the heart for asylum

 Because I have finally authored the guide to my own sanity and I have no stomach for a second edit

No point, just felt like writing (unedited)

I've had one of those days today where I've decided a whole load of things. I have a habit of doing a lot of my decision making internally, so I'll just come out with something like 'ok, so I'll be moving to Scotland next year', which tends to sound a bit random and out of the blue to those around me, but has usually been the reuslt of a long bit of internal dialogue. Anyway, the result of one of the decisions (save more) is that I plan to be in more over the next 10 months or so.  Rather than spend all that time watching youtube videos and trying to perfect my a cappella imitation of the guitar riff in Hotel California, I figured I'd take it as a time to hopefully become a bit more creative.  I'm planning to finally start teaching myself to play my Freecycle Violin with its Freecycle bow, and also play a bit more guitar, and maybe actually learn a bit more techniqe than jittery chord changes and skipping over the 'difficult' bits.  I'm hop

Troy Davis. Amnesty. Please.

I heard about this case through a blog by my sister.  I am hoping that me writing this will do for others out there what hers did for me - raise awareness, set me on the path to taking whatever little action that I can, and passing this on so others can do the same. This is one of those stories that's acted as a reminder, in my happy go trippy life, that this kind of thing is going on still - blatant miscarriages of justice, in a guise of justice so poorly portrayed, it feels surreal that it's even possible.  Just today, through a river-boat captain's commentary, i found out what the punishment for pirates used to be on the thames - and i was just struck by how barbaric humans can be to other humans, and call it 'justice'.
